A pile of receipts, ready for your VAT return.
The quarter is over and the receipts are in a shoebox, a drawer and your camera roll. Scan them in batches of up to 50, check what's flagged, and download one spreadsheet with the VAT for each rate in its own column. The quarter's input VAT is then one SUM per column.
What you get
| Vendor | Date | Category | Subtotal | Tax | Total | Currency | VAT 19% | VAT 7% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Café Lindner | 2026-04-14 | Meals | 11.50 | 2.19 | 13.69 | EUR | 2.19 | |
| Stadtmarkt | 2026-04-15 | Groceries | 23.40 | 2.12 | 25.52 | EUR | 0.76 | 1.36 |
| Nordbahn | 2026-04-17 | Travel | 40.00 | 2.80 | 42.80 | EUR | 2.80 |
One row per receipt. Total the VAT 19% and VAT 7% columns for the VAT at each rate; the Tax column holds each receipt's VAT total.
How it works
- 01
Gather the quarter
Photograph the paper receipts and add the PDFs from your inbox, up to 50 files per upload. Keep adding batches until the quarter is complete.
- 02
Check what's flagged
Missing or doubtful amounts are marked for checking. In the Stash, two scans with the same vendor, date and total are tagged "Duplicate?", so you can delete the extra one before you export.
- 03
Export the quarter
Export the whole Stash, or just the receipts you select, as one Excel or CSV file with a column for each VAT rate.
Why it fits
VAT per rate
Each rate printed on a receipt gets its own column across the export, blank where a receipt has nothing at that rate.
Duplicates flagged
Same vendor, date, currency and total? Both scans are tagged as a possible duplicate. Tap the tag if it really was two coffees.
Numbers that add up
With a European region set in your browser, the CSV uses semicolons and decimal commas, so totals sum in Excel instead of landing as text.
You still file the return
InvoiceSnap reads what's printed and hands you a spreadsheet. Whether that VAT is deductible, and filing the return, stays with you or your accountant.
Questions
- How many receipts can I scan at once?
- Up to 50 files per upload, and as many uploads as you need. Every scan lands in your Stash, so the whole quarter exports as one file.
- Does it work for monthly VAT returns too?
- Yes. Select one month's receipts in the Stash and export just those, or export everything at once for a quarter or a year.
- Can my accountant use the file?
- It's a plain .xlsx or CSV file with one row per receipt and the same base columns every time, so it opens in any spreadsheet program.
- How much does it cost?
- 5 scans a month are free, with no account. After that, credit packs start at €4 for 20 scans and never expire. There's no subscription.
